Free Tuition program is geared for young students who perform poorly in their academics and drop out even at the primary level and end up as laborers. Children from economically weaker sections of society cannot afford to pay for extra coaching classes. Hence Seesha Tuition Centers were established to help children excel in their academics, free of cost and to reduce the number of school dropouts in rural communities. The community provides the space for the Tuition Center.

Seesha Childrens’ Club provides support for students to enroll in Tuition Centers to pursue in their passion and bring out their talents. Students are encouraged to study Art and to express themselves through drawing, painting, essay writing and poetry. Many students have shown extraordinary talents in extracurricular activities. The progress of children and top rank holders are recognized through prizes, awards and other incentives.

I am S.Sowmya from Arakkonam. I have completed my 7th std at Panchayat Union School, Arakkonam and I have been promoted to 8th std. My father is a scavenger. His line of work is Rat - Catching & Wood cutting and his earning are meager. We are barely able to meet our family’s basic needs from my father’s meager income.

He could not afford anything for my education .I have no body to motivate & encourage me, including my parents, as they are not educated. I didn’t get an opportunity or have the means to exploit my God given talents. It was at this point of time, I joined Seesha Free Tuition Center one year back. They encouraged me and guided me which gave me full hope to continue and complete my school education. Seesha provided the much needed care, confidence and effective coaching to boost up my academic performance. Normally I won’t get high ranks in my class, but now I compete for the 1st and 2nd ranks. So considering my consistent performance in the class, my school awarded a gold cup to me, which is beyond my imagination and was never anticipated by my family. I found my identity through Seesha. I thank Paul Uncle and Seesha for their obligation and prayers which has transformed my life.

Present Position:

We have established 33 tuition centres at various districts covering 6 states across India to promote education and make the poor students to compete with other students and also to excel them in their studies especially rural and urban slum areas. The free tuition is taken by teachers who motivate the students to do well in all subjects. There are now 1838 students who are benefitted by these tuition centres. We have planned to have 11 new more tuition centres in various other states in India by the end of this year. The cost of a tuition centre includes honorarium for teachers, daily snacks, gifts for studious students, teaching aids, travel, rent & maintenance.
