Seesha Rehabilitation Center building is in construction at Karunya Nagar, Coimbatore to train the physically challenged as well as to counsel and treat people affected by AIDS and those who are addicted to drugs.

DISABILITY PREVENTION PROGRAM:

Seesha is planning to start four Rehabilitation Clinics at Coimbatore district- India. The main aim of this program is to train, counsel and motivate the differently abled to live independently. Seesha is planning to organize Awareness camps on Prevention of Disabilities, adult literacy program for physically challenged and Orientation on advocacy and rights for the people with disabilities.

Above all it is also our endeavor to involve Karunya students to participate in all these programmes. We collaborate with them to impart and imbibe the values of compassion and caring for the people who are aged deprived, and has disabilities. We work with them in the areas of research to find solution to the problems of the people. In association with Karunya students, we have planned to distribute assistive devices to the people with disability shortly.

SUCCESS STORIES:

I am Priya and I am 27. My husband abandoned me with my two daughters as I am physically challenged. I reside in a small hut in Pallavan Nagar in Chennai. I am working as a tailor in a tailoring shop which makes cloth bags and earn a meager daily wage. Because of my condition I experienced immense difficulty in reaching my work place. I would not be paid full wages when I report late to work. It was at this situation I happen to attend a Free Medical Camp conducted by SEESHA and came to know about the help that they are rendering for the differently abled. I sought support from Seesha and within a few days, I received a call from them informing me that I would be gifted a Tricycle. Subsequently, I was presented with a Tricycle by Dr. Paul Dhinakaran during the SEESHA Function which was held on the 7th, Dec, 2009 at Santhome Higher Secondary School. I now reach my work place on time without any difficulty. I am also able to do other jobs that would add additional income for my family. I praise God and thank Dr. Paul Dhinakaran and SEESHA for their humanitarian help which has transformed my life and given me and my family a new hope.
