SEESHA BUCKLEY ORPHANAGE FOR TRIBAL GIRLS
History:
The Buckley Girls' Hostel was established in the year 1822 by the missionaries in the City of Cuttack, Orissa. This primitive institution later gave birth to Buckley Primary School, High School and Women’s teacher training School. This home came under the management of “The Diocese of Cuttack, Church of North India" when the missionaries left India. Financial aid from the Diocese of Cuttack stopped due to litigation. This resulted in a serious financial crisis at the orphanage and the local management sought financial assistance from Seesha.
SEESHA provides financial assistance to this orphanage in a monthly basis to meet all the needs of the children. Thus Buckley Girls’ Hostel became Seesha Buckley Orphanage. Seesha Buckley Orphanage now a caring, safe and beautiful home is a haven for 40 tribal girls from Phulabani and Gajapathi districts that are often under communal violence. Seesha provides them with food, clothing, shelter, quality education and medical care.
Seesha Buckley Orphanage is located at Mission Road, P.O: Buxi Bazar, Cuttack – 753 001, Orissa – India.
SEESHA PENIEL ORPHANAGE:
Lohidas the pastor of Assemblies of God Church in kanjirakulam, Trivandrum had a great burden to work for the welfare of the demoralized people. The pastor and his wife, invited old abandoned people and parentless children in to their home and supported them with great love and care. The pastor with the small offertory from his church could not meet all the needs of the old people and young children who are differently abled. It was at this juncture they came to know about SEESHA and requested support. Seesha took over Peniel orphanage by sponsoring 30 orphans & destitutes.
2010 – 2011 PLAN:
Seesha has made plans to support 4 new Orphanages with 180 children in this financial year.
